Call for Artists

Leeds Center for the Arts requests donation submissions of 2-Dimensional art from Central Kentucky artists for its second annual silent art auction fundraiser. Artists have the option to donate the work outright, or to receive 50% of the proceeds.

On Saturday, December 14, and Sunday, December 15, Leeds will present Holidazzle, a holiday-themed family variety show. The silent art auction will run from Friday, November 8 (the opening of The Little Mermaid Jr.) until Sunday, December 15 (the closing Holidazzle performance). Accepted artists will receive two complimentary tickets to The Little Mermaid Jr. and one complimentary ticket to Holidazzle.

TIMELINE
Monday, October 28:
Deadline for submission
Thursday, October 31: Notification of selected works
Monday, November 4-Wednesday, November 6: Drop-off of selected artworks to the theater OR arranged pick-up by Leeds staff
Friday, November 8: Opening of The Little Mermaid, Jr. and opening of bids Sunday, December 15, 3:30pm: Final performance of Holidazzle, close of bids Monday, December 16-Wednesday, December 18: Pick-up of works by winning bidders, and of unbid works by artists
Wednesday, December 18: All checks (if applicable) will be mailed to artists

REQUESTED WORK
Artwork must be ready to hang or display.
Any original artwork (previously created or created for this event). 2-dimensional work should not exceed 4 feet in height or width. 3-dimensional works of art will be accepted as space permits.

Pieces should be appropriate in style and content for general audiences, as they will be displayed in the theater lobby during family productions.
