Classes
All Spring 2025 Elementary Level Classes begin the week of January 13, 2025. Registration opens on November 8, 2024.
An all - discipline showcase will be held on Thursday March 27, 2025 at 7:30 PM.
Intermediate Tap Dance
This 10-week class meets Saturday mornings, 11am-12pm, from January 18 to March 22. The class will culminate in a showcase on Thursday, March 27 at 7:30pm.
Ages 8 and up. $25 registration fee + $67 per month.

Students will take their next steps (pun intended!) on their journey to tap-dancing success with this class. Intermediate tappers will continue to develop their artistry as performers and advance their skills in a variety of styles and techniques - including tap choreography. Ages 8+.
Why take this class? Students with some experience in tap dancing will enjoy furthering their abilities and expanding their “dancer toolbox.” And this class isn’t just for kids. Anyone 8 and up can participate!

Kyla Shinksy - Kyla Shinsky was born and raised in Maryville, Tennessee. She's been dancing for 18 years, competing and training at Artistic Dance Unlimited. She has learned various dance styles ranging from ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, modern, musical theater, tap and acrobatics. She now attends the University of Kentucky where she is getting her BA in Arts Administration and Dance. There, she is expanding her knowledge and passion with dance involving herself in the program’s intense number of performances. She is also the President of the University of Kentucky Ensemble where she choreographs and trains to further explore and practice her technique.
Intermediate Musical Theatre Dance
This 10-week class meets Monday evenings, 7-8:30pm, from January 13 to March 24 (skipping Monday, February 17). The class will culminate in a showcase on Thursday, March 27 at 7:30pm.
Ages 12-18. $25 registration fee + $75 per month.

In the 12-17 age group class, students will learn the foundations of musical theater dance technique that will prepare them for dance auditions ranging from the Broadway stage, to commercials and musical movies on the big screen. Students will also gain a basic knowledge of the history of dance in musicals and how the dance styles evolved through each era of theater. Overall this class will teach students musical theater dance technique, characterization, choreographic retention, an introduction to choreographing musical theatre dance, and an understanding of the evolution of dance in musicals from the 1920’s to present day.

Aloria Beason - Aloria Beason was born and raised in Knoxville, TN. She is pursuing an Arts Administration BA with a minor in Dance at the University of Kentucky. With 16 years of comprehensive dance training in lyrical, contemporary, jazz, musical theater, hip-hop, and more, she brings extensive expertise to both performance and education. As the publicist and as a choreographer for the UK Dance Ensemble, she has crafted eight original pieces and overseen their marketing. While she maintains an active performance career, her true passion lies in nurturing artistic development in students aged 2-22–helping to shape the next generation of dancers.
Beginner Tap Dance
This 10-week class meets Saturday mornings, 10-11am, from January 18 to March 22. The class will culminate in a showcase on Thursday, March 27 at 7:30pm.
Ages 8 and up. $25 registration fee + $67 per month.

Dive into the basics and history of Tap Dance. In this class you will learn the basic steps of Tap and the history behind it! Whether it be classical, rhythm, or musical theater tap, you will learn it all!

Hip Hop Dance
This 6-week class meets Wednesday evenings, January 8 to February 12 from 6 to 7pm. This class culminates in an open studio class, Wednesday, February 12.
Ages 12-18. $25 registration fee plus $90 due at first class.

Hip hop is fierce and fun, and it’s everywhere: in commercials, in music videos, and at every good dance party. Students will get a basic introduction to a variety of techniques - including improvisation and jazz funk - with music and moves that are awesome and age-appropriate. Ages 12-18.
Why take this class? Hip Hop dancing isn’t just popular; it’s great for improving coordination, core strength, and precision as a performer. Plus, for those interested in dance careers, it helps build a foundation of skills for the professional market.

Advanced Acting
This 10-week class meets Saturday mornings, 12-1pm, from January 18 to March 22. The class will culminate in a showcase on Thursday, March 27 at 7:30pm.
Ages 14 to 18. $25 registration fee plus $67 per month.

This fun and challenging class is perfect for high school actors wanting to shine their brightest in the next big play or musical. This on-your-feet workshop will review the basics of good stage acting and will offer students the chance to play a variety of characters in monologues, scenes, and improvisation. Ages 14-18.
Why take this class? It’s perfect for talented, dedicated, and competitive actors who want a leg up on the next big audition. It’s also fantastic preparation for anyone interested in pursuing theater in college. It’s also great for students who just enjoy the art and craft of acting!

Taylor Greatbatch - Originally from Paris, KY, Taylor has been fortunate to spend the last twelve years employed as a professional actor and freelance artist (member, Actors’ Equity Association). When not performing, you can find him choreographing, directing, and educating in the theater or in the freezer aisle of your local Trader Joe’s. A short list of his favorite jobs and shows over the years include: working with The American Theatre Wing, Inside Broadway, Chashama, DreamYardNYC, Signature Theatre, SITI Company, FiveOHM, and the productions, Seussical, The Arabian Nights, The Wedding Singer, Lend Me a Tenor, Magic Flute, Pygmalion, A Chorus Line, Singin’ in the Rain, Grease, and Beauty & the Beast. He is a selfishly proud Eagle Scout and alum of the Kentucky Center Governor’s School for the Arts, Broadway Dreams Foundation, and SpringboardNYC.
