If you’ve been to Leeds, you probably know that we put on great shows and that we have an active education program for young artists. What may be less obvious is the impact that those productions and classes and workshops have in our community. Our programming at Leeds puts people to work, with 40-50 paid positions for artists and technicians each year, as well as dozens of opportunities for adults and young people to volunteer – both onstage and behind the scenes. Our students walk out of our doors at the end of their classes and return to their schools and workplaces more confident, more capable, more eloquent, and more informed about how to take their next steps toward college and careers. And if you think about our effect on surrounding businesses, we attract hundreds of shoppers and diners to Main Street with every production.
